Children's Church and Youth of Unity

Our children's Church and Youth Of Unity programs ...

We will continue to have spiritual lessons each Sunday for the children during regular church service times. The curriculum is titled "Celebrating My God-self." Lessons teach about uniqueness: What is God? One Presence/Power; What does God "look" like? I am an expression of God; When can I talk to God? Prayer; ending with "the silence."

Each lesson has a Bible background and an affirmation. We have looked at Stories of God - many paths, one God. Again, we will refer to Bible passages, but also draw from other religions, including Hinduism, Islam, Muslim, Judaism, and Native American beliefs.

Our Children's Church and Youth of Unity programs, which meet at 10:30 on Sunday morning, focus on teaching spiritual principles, ethical behavior and personal empowerment. We provide infant and toddle care at every service because due to the nature of our Sunday service, which includes a quiet time of prayer and meditation, we prefer to have all small children in Children's Church during the service.

Our Southwest Region of Unity Churches sponsors Kid's Camps and Uniteen Camps in June of each year. These are great opportunities for children to learn, worship, and play with peers of like-mind in a beautiful moutain setting. Children from Unity Churches around Southern California and Arizona come together for a week of great activities that encourage self-expression, understanding, and spiritual growth. Requirements for camp participation include active participation in the youth education program at their local church. Come with friends each Sunday to learn more about the principles of Unity and practical Christianity. If you are interested in finding out more about the summer camp programs, please contact Jackie Bird for more information.
